Every supported council has a real, direct integration
Each of the councils we cover has its own dedicated integration built against that council's actual published waste system — a JSON feed, an address-lookup API, or a mapping/GIS service the council itself runs. When you search an address, we query that council's system live and show you exactly what it returns.
There is no shared "guess based on nearby suburbs" logic and no manually maintained calendar standing in for real council data. If a council's system doesn't return anything for an address, we say so rather than filling the gap with something plausible-looking.
Finding the right council for your address
We resolve your address to a council using the Australian Bureau of Statistics' own official Local Government Area boundary data — an exact match against the real council boundary, not just your postcode (which can span more than one council). This is the same category of approach the most accurate tools in this space use, and it's a meaningfully more reliable signal than postcode alone.
What happens when your council isn't covered
You'll see an honest "not supported yet" result, never a fabricated or sample schedule. This matters more than it might sound: at least one other bin-tracking site openly shows made-up "sample schedules" for areas it doesn't actually have data for. We treat that as the one mistake worth never making, coverage growth or not.
If your area isn't covered, you can register your interest with your email — that demand directly informs which council gets added next.
Keeping existing coverage accurate
A weekly automated check confirms every supported council's data source is still reachable, so a council changing its website or moving its system is caught quickly rather than silently breaking a schedule lookup. Coverage only grows by adding real integrations — never by relaxing what counts as "supported".
