Why there's no one national answer
Waste collection is a local government responsibility in Australia. Each of the roughly 560 councils nationally sets its own collection days, contracts its own truck routes, and decides its own bin colours and cadence — usually following the national lid-colour standard (see our lid colour guide), but not always.
That local-first structure is exactly why a tool like this one exists: rather than you hunting through your council's website for a PDF calendar or an address-lookup widget buried in a "Waste & Recycling" section, we query the same data your council publishes and show it to you directly.
The fastest way to check
Enter your address on the home page — we match it against the exact council boundary (not just your postcode, which can span more than one council) and, for supported areas, pull your real schedule straight from your council's own system.
If your council isn't supported yet, you'll see an honest "not covered yet" message rather than a guess — we don't show sample or placeholder schedules for areas we don't actually have data for. You can register your interest and we'll notify you when it's added.
If your council isn't covered here
Every Australian council publishes its own collection calendar somewhere on its official site, usually under a "Waste and Recycling" or "Bins" section, often with its own address-lookup tool. Searching "[your council name] bin collection day" is the most reliable fallback.
Most councils also offer a printable annual calendar for streets that don't have a consistent weekday, which is worth downloading once and keeping if your council runs on a rotating or fortnightly-alternating system.
